I am a clinical psychologist registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)as well as the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF). I completed my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS) and went on to do my internship and community service at Tara H Moros Psychiatric Hospital. Thereafter I continued working at Tara Hospital going on to become the head psychologist at their Personality Disorder Ward (Ward 4&5). Currently I have moved on to start up a private practice at the Village Medical Center in Parktown North.

I was fortunate enough in my career to have worked with a variety of individuals struggling with various mental difficulties, ranging from young children to adults. A particular interest of mine is working with people struggling with personality and mood disorders. As a result, I have had experience working with adults, couples and parents struggling with daily life challenges. I have run programs that were designed to help parents better understand their relationships with their children as well as programs that were designed to help provide individuals with general life skills to cope in stressful situations.

In my practice I offer short, medium and long term psychotherapy to individuals as well as couples. I work primarily from a psychodynamic framework, but also integrate other frameworks where necessary. I am also very familiar with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) which is profoundly useful when working with anxiety, stress and depression. Every person is unique and there is no perfect framework for all individuals, as such flexibility in treatment style is necessary to establish the most useful treatment plan for every individual.

In summary, I specialize in:

  • Individual Psychotherapy
